Post Lice Treatment

Once your child has been treated for head lice be sure to recheck his head every 3-4 days for at least two weeks. Do not power struggle with your child on the head checking. Here's a great idea to gain cooperation: Give him a choice! He must have his head checked but he can choose what time of day, where the checking should take place, what he can play with during a checking, or what activity he can do after the checking. Here's an example: "Mike, your head needs to be checked for lice. Should we check it before breakfast or after breakfast." This way he has some sort of control over the lice checking procedure.
